Historic Highlands, Pasadena CA
Historic Highlands began its development in the late nineteenth century. It was originally the estates of two prominent Pasadena residents. Ezra Dane was an orchardist who settled here in the 1880s, purchasing 160 acres to raise livestock and plant fruit orchards. He and his wife built their ranch house known as "Sunnyridge on the Highlands" in 1885. You can still see the double rows of palm trees that lined the driveway to their home. The land was later subdivided and sold off creating building lots for the substantial custom homes of businessmen and professionals.
